Pumpkin Party Thank You!

Thank you to all family members for making our Pumpkin Day such a success.  We had an enormous amount of nutritious and delicious food provided as well as spook-tacular beverages.  Thank you for taking the time to make the presentation of your dish so inviting!  We also appreciated the flatware and decorations that made our feast fun. 

A special thank you to Mrs. Baker, Mrs. Dumais, Mrs. Facchinelli, Mrs. Parker, Mrs. Rinaldi, Mrs. Shreeves, Mrs. Viesner and Mrs. Mountfort for you time and service today.  Without your fantastic organization, and participation we could not have had such a successful day.  Thank you for choosing to spend time with our class on such a busy day.

Pumpkin Party

Halloween Social

Next Monday is Halloween.  Our class will celebrate with Pumpkin Activities as well as a Pot-Luck Luncheon.  If you are able to help out, our theme is nutritious and delicious.  We are hoping to have a balanced lunch.  We will provide the pizza for students.  Ideas for items to bring are fruit/veggie plates, treats (obviously), drinks, plates, napkins, glasses, etc.  We will be confirming and organizing our social starting tomorrow.

October Focus: Recognizing People's Feelings
This month we examine the topic of recognizing people's feelings.  We continue to encourage students to focus on strategies of opinion and perspective while developing empathy for others.  Developing empathy for others requires the ability to see ourselves in others and the awareness that coping with feelings is a part of every human being's life. 

Vocabulary:

emotion: a strong feeling
empathy: understanding the thoughts and feelings of others
