Homework
1. Read - 20 minutes - 10 minutes orally with an adult summarizing main ideas, details, and conclusion with an adult
2. LA - Dutch Treats - summarizing web - topic/main ideas and details - due Monday
3. Math - Problems 58 & 79 - due Monday
4. Music - Practise songs 2 - 10; fill in counting pattern for song #9, read page 6, bring instruments and book Monday
5. FRIENDS - review lesson 2 activities with family; complete home activities:  A3 (page 9) and Activity 4 (top of page 12);  return book for MONDAY

Working It Out - 

October Focus: Recognizing People's Feelings
This month we examine the topic of recognizing people's feelings.  We continue to encourage students to focus on strategies of opinion and perspective while developing empathy for others.  Developing empathy for others requires the ability to see ourselves in others and the awareness that coping with feelings is a part of every human being's life. 

Vocabulary:

emotion: a strong feeling
empathy: understanding the thoughts and feelings of others

Can You Help?

We will celebrate Halloween on October 31st with classroom activities that focus on Pumpkin activities.  If you are able to support our class, I would love to have 5 parents to help students work through out the morning starting at 9 am through to noon.  If you are able to help out, could you please let me know?  Thanks!
