SPUDS FOR BUDS!
As part of our Cultural Celebrations unit, and as a class celebration, our class will celebrate St. Patrick's Day with Spuds for Buds on Monday March  11th.  Students will can sign up to bring one condiment or topping for our baked potato feast. 

If you are a parent and would like to join us for this celebration, please see Ms. Pawliuk.  Two parent volunteers will be required for wrapping/baking of spuds as well as setting up and joining us in our feast.

Students received gained an additional 2.5 periods (113 minutes) to work on projects today, so as to work towards our class goal of having NO HOMEWORK for the long weekend.   This gave all students 10.5 x 45 minute in-class work periods this week.  
Student are asked to have all materials at school for TUESDAY.   
I am really looking forward to reviewing students' work.

MUSIC REMINDER
There is no Music next week as we do not have school on Monday or Friday.  Please keep instruments at home.  Continue to practise your most current songs!

Novel Study Museum Walk - Thursday February 21 - 9-12:00
NOVEL PROJECT   -   DUE:  TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 12
Students have been working in class with peer and teacher support, editing their paragraphs.  All students have read and enjoyed reviewing each paragraph with the support of their peers and teacher.  Students were advised as to how they could improve their writing.   Student have enjoyed 2 more  bonus work periods today, bringing their overall work time to 8 x 45 minute in-class work periods this week.  
They can now work on copying paragraphs to 'good copy' on their paper bags, at home if they wish.  Students will have an additional period to work on their projects tomorrow in class. Please have all material at school.

NOVEL PROJECT   -   DUE:  TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 12
Paragraphs: IN-CLASS WORK!! 
Students have been working in class with peer and teacher support, editing their paragraphs.  Each class we have focused on 1 topic.  Thus far, each student has worked daily in small groups focusing on the Main Character, Supporting Character, and Setting.  Tomorrow's focus will be on the final paragraphs  (problem & resolution).   Student have enjoyed 2 bonus work periods, bringing their overall work time to 6 x 45 minute in-class work periods this week.
 
I appreciate how hard all of the students have been working to keep up with this project, as well as to ensure that they are producing their best work.  Thank you to all class members and our families who support us!
