Salmon Run Field Trip
On Thursday, October 9 our class has a chance to participate in going to the Adam's River Salmon Run and experience the interpretive program that is offered.  Our class requires parent support in order to make this event possible.  Without your support, we may not be able to attend this wonderful opportunity.  Parents must drive themselves or carpool as the buses are filled to capacity with students.  We leave the school no later than 8:45 and return just before 2:30 pm.  This is a long day, so it is not the best time to involve younger siblings.  If you are able to help out supporting individual students and small groups, could you please let me know?  Thanks!!

Special Events:
1. McGowan Terry Fox Run - Friday, Oct. 3 at 9:20 am;  Toonie for Terry
2. Salmon Run Field Trip - Thursday, Oct. 9 - student bus leaves 8:40 am
3. Family Dance - Thursday, Oct. 23 - wear a costume!
4. Non Instructional Day - Friday, Oct. 24 - NO SCHOOL - PD Day

Can You Help?
It is helpful to our class if each student can bring in one box of tissues.  Thank you to the well organized families who have already sent in a box of tissues.

I am looking forward to having a great second week together!

Welcome Back!

I hope that everyone had a great break.  It has been wonderful to meet so many of you in the halls the last two days.  Thank you for introducing yourselves to me.  I look forward to meeting everyone as the year unfolds.

I will post briefly each day's  review work.  Because we are just getting into school routines, students will gradually be introduced to classroom expectations such as home reading and spelling expectations.  Tonight our focus is on home school communication through the Agenda Book.

Inside each Agenda is posted the website, located through the McGowan Web Page.  Nightly, I will post review items and important messages.  Due to the students' age as well as to practice note taking skills, agenda entries will be brief, with greater detail provided on the Blog.  Please take some time to familiarize yourself with the Blog.  I hope you find it helpful.
