Just a reminder to our fabulous math leaders that there are no math groups tomorrow.  Happy holidays!

LOST AND FOUND & HOLIDAY CLEAN UP
Our class has checked the lost and found twice this week.  If you are able to take a moment to look through items, your assistance would be greatly appreciated.  We will be sending all locker items and snow gear home tomorrow.  If your child has a sled at school, please encourage them to take it with them as well.

Thank you to our fabulous families for their support of our busy craft morning!  We appreciated all of the add-on sent in from piping bags, to icing, to fabulous candies for the trimmings.  Many thanks.  

We would also like to recognize our fabulous leaders:  Ms. Blake, Mrs. Kronebusch, Mrs. Meredith, Mrs. Warner, Mrs. Zulinick and Mr. Vorpahl for guiding students through 3 crafts!!  Your time, energy and expretise is greatly appreciated.  I think you'll find your names on the 'Nice List' this year! :-)

Gingerbread House Building

Tomorrow students will build a small gingerbread house.  If you have additional candy that you could donate to our class to help decorate your child's gingerbread house, your support would be appreciated!!  Please DO NOT make special trips to purchase candy!  We have kits at the school that include candy, however, students enjoy nibbling on a few pieces as they work.  :-)

MARY POPPINS
Tomorrow primary students will attend the Mary Poppins Musical at the Sagebrush Theater.   Due to the length of the performance, students will eat Lunch early at 10:00 am.  We will have our Recess upon our return at 2:00 pm.  Students will go by bus, leaving at 10:30 and returning by 2:00.

Please review with your child the best way to keep their hats, mitts, and jacket together, for ease of putting on.

 This is an outstanding performance put on by the Western Canada Theatre company.  We hope everyone enjoys the show!

WINTER WEAR
Thank you to all families for sending your children so well prepared for our colder weather.  To help with our organization at school, please ensure that ALL ITEMS are labelled with your child's name, as many children have similar items.   

At school, the students are encouraged to take the time to put their items on our class's boot rack, pant rack and in their locker.  Indoor shoes should be stored in your child's locker.   Thank you for encouraging your child to be independent and responsible with the fantastic clothing that you have sent.   

SLEDS
Students may bring a sled to school for break fun.  We require students to use their sled respectfully, taking turns and waiting for runs to clear before going.  Students must store sleds outdoors and are encouraged to take sleds home over the weekend.  Unfortunately, the school cannot be responsible for missing sleds.  Please mark your sled clearly with your name  if you choose to bring one.  

Bus students cannot bring sleds on the the bus.  Sorry!!

MARVELOUS MATH MOTHERS

SKATING
Tomorrow afternoon is our first skate at McArthur Island arena.   All students need to pack a lunch tomorrow as we leave the school at 12:30 pm, taking the bus to the rink.

The bus requires that skates have guards or be packed in cloth bags.  Please no plastic bags!!  We also must transport hockey sticks to the arena.  If you are able to help us take the sticks, please stop by the class anytime before we leave.  We appreciate your help.  :-)

It is always good to be prepared.  Students gear should include:  Skates, helmet, no-slip pants (no splash pants as the make it difficult to get up from the ice), longer socks, mitts/gloves, and a warm outer jacket as well as lighter jacket.

We usually reserve a portion of the ice for a friendly hockey game.  Students participating should wear a face mask if they have one, as well as a neck-guard, although our game should be FRIENDLY!!

Thanks to parents who are joining us!  We look forward to seeing you there, or skating with you.  Parents who skate are asked to wear helmets, whenever possible.

CONSTABLE WINKLES
Today all primary students spent time with our school liaison, Constable Winkles.  Constable Winkles discussed with the students strategies to assist with dealing with bullying and peer victimization through the WITS PROGRAM and story telling.   

Please ask your child what they remember from the story of Walrus and the WITS strategies.  If you would like further information about the WITS program, please check out the web site: www.witsprogram.ca, or ask for a pamphlet from the school.

Remembrance Day Assembly - 11:00 am
Students should wear dark pants (black/blue) and a shirt that is of white, red or black colouring.  Please no logos or designs.  Poppies will be available at school for a small contribution requested.  

Tomorrow our class will present a song at our school's Remembrance Day Assembly called, Of the People.  Please ask your child to review the song lyrics with you.  We hope that you are able to join us.

Thank you to Grandma Becky, who came in today to lead students in a science experiment focusing on mixing colours.  Students learned the process and procedures for mixing primary colours to become intermediate colours.  Thanks for choosing to spend part of the morning with us :-).  We appreciate your time!

-small water/drink bottles with lids

-a pair of socks (these will be returned :-) )

FAMILY MATH NIGHTS
