Thank you to all families for supporting our friendship fruit salad in honor of Taymin's last day with us.  We wish Taymin well in her new school.  We will miss you but know that you are going to love your new school!

Today students saw the  Bird Brain production at the Pavillion Theatre.  This work was co-produced by Western Canada Theatre Company and the TRU Drama Department.  Students who may be interested acting, musical, and production classes should check out the Stage One Summer Theatre School.

SUMMER CAMP OPPORTUNITIES!!
Eureka!  

Today students enjoyed a Eureka Science presentation.  Students were involved in learning about biology, chemistry,  and physics (engineering).  Today each student learned about fungi, how to make bouncy balls, as well as how build a structure out of Popsicle sticks.  Students can also learn how to make Elephant's Toothpaste at home!  We appreciate this wonderful learning opportunity and thank our PAC for this great experience!!

TRU Sports Camps
Today and tomorrow students participated in activities led by TRU Sports Camp leaders.  Students enjoyed a game of never-ending tag and California Kickball.  Fun!!  Camps run throughout the summer.   Please check out the web site for more information: www.tru.ca/sportcamp  (250.852.7135)

Cinco de Mayo Thank You!

Thank you to all families for your fabulous support of our class's Cinco de Mayo celebration.  The students enjoyed a delicious pot luck luncheon thanks to everyone's efforts.  Special thanks go out to Mrs. Richardson and Mrs. Thrower for their time and leadership in helping us set up for the luncheon.  Today was a fun way to have fun with our friends!

Thank you to Mrs. Marsh who came in today to demonstrate composting.  We learned about how recycling our food and garden waste helps with the RECYCLING process.  Thanks to Tyanne's family, our class will get to see composting in action!!  We appreciate Mrs. Marsh for coming in and helping us to experience science in action.

Cinco de Mayo Celebration 

This year as part of our Social Studies Units Our World, Our Cultures we will celebrate Cinco de Mayo with a 'Taco Tuesday' pot luck luncheon.  Each child has been asked to supply a small amount food or flatware as a contribution.  Today your child will bring home a paper letter with their choice of contribution as well as the amount of food to bring.  Thank you for your support in helping us to have fun with our friends!  If you would like to help us with set up and join in the celebration, please let me know!!

Kamloops District Honor Choir

Today our school enjoyed a presentation by the Kamloops District Honor Choir.  Students enjoyed a variety of song and movement.  Many of our McGowan students are member of both the district's Children's Choir and Honor Choir.  These opportunities become available to your child next year.
