Thank you to ALL FAMILIES for your fabulous support of our SPUDS FOR BUDS celebration.   Students enjoyed baked potatoes topped with delcious toppings.  Thank you to everyone for your contribution.  This was a fun and festive way to celebrate St. Patrick's Day, as well as our up-coming break.  Have a wonderful Spring Break!

A HUGE THANK YOU  to Mr. Mazzelli, who spear-headed our kitchen for this event! Thank you for choosing to spend the entire morning with us leading teams of students in food prepartaion skills.  We so appreciate your time, energy, and leadershiop.  Thanks you as well, for the delicious cupcakes which ended our celebration!!  ;-)

Today, Constable Winkles read a story called, One, with the students as part of the RCMP's WITS Program.  This story focused on how to stand up as individuals as well as a group, as well as taking a stand before our emotions make us 'blow up'.

NON FICTION SPEAKING TOPIC
Next week student present mammals as part of our class's non-fiction unit.  Students have selected a mammal card.  Each student has been given a criteria sheet to help support their success with this task.  Student have worked through a model in class.  One key area is to paraphrase the facts for their mammal, in their own words. 

This is a difficult skill.  It has been suggested that students  read their fact card 2 times and then  put the card away.  Their great memories will enable them to select 3 facts about their animal. 

Students are not required to do any additional research or add information that cannot be supported by their card.
