Over the break, Keaton celebrates his 8th birthday.  We hope that you have a wonderful day and an excellent break.  Happy 8th Birthday, Keaton.  Eight is great!

Applied Design, Skills, and Technologies:  

      Something to think about....  Be inspired!

During term 3, students will design and build a structure with a group of 2 or 3 as part of Applied Design, Skills and Technologies curriculum.  This project will give students opportunity to design, make, and demonstrate to others, how their product contributes to others (individual, family, community, and/or environment).

What can you do to start?  Over the break talk about possible ideas that could be made and begin to gather materials that students can choose for their building materials (cardboard, cereal boxes, paper towel rolls, various tapes, etc.)  We will choose our groups and start designing and building AFTER the Spring Production!

Pizza Day tomorrow for those who ordered

DEAR FAMILIES,

Thank you for your support during our very busy Term 2.  You deserve long and happy break with your children.  I hope that the weather will bring lots of time to enjoy the great outdoors!   Rest, relax and recharge.  Term 3 starts in earnest on April 3!  I look forward to working with your children on our class curriculum, school musical and many other wonderful opportunities.  

Over the holiday, I will keep your child's agenda at the school along with their back and forth bag.  Whenever possible, encourage your child to read aloud to you for at least 10 minutes, as well as read to themselves for 20-30 minutes.  Play some great board or card games to have family fun with math.  

Have a great spring break!  See you in April!

Spuds for Buds Celebration 

Thank you to our fabulous families for your generous support of our Spuds for Buds potato luncheon!  Students enjoyed tasting potatoes with a wonderful selection of toppings.  We will have POTCHOS (oven baked potatoes with toppings) and left over fruit tomorrow as a recess snack.  I will return all containers tomorrow.  

Many thanks to our fabulous volunteers who helped us prepare, organize, serve and clear today's luncheon.  Heartfelt thanks go out to Mrs. Brown, Mrs. Nessman,  and Mrs. Mazzelli.  Our thanks go out as well to Mrs. Richardson, who worked tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure we had a great day.  We so appreciate your time, energy and volunteerism.  We couldn't hold these events without your support. Thank you for your generous contribution!  Many thanks!

3.  St Patrick's Day - Spuds for Buds Celebration - potluck contribution 
     Today your child will bring home a slip with their choice of topping for the Spuds for Buds celebration.  We are hosting our 'Buddy Class' so there will be about 50 or so people.  The menu consists of baked potatoes with a variety of toppings, Limonade, and Rainbow fruit salad with whipping cream.   If you could send in your item prepared and ready to serve (washed/chopped, etc.) on Tuesday morning, our parent volunteers will be happy to make sure it is enjoyed by all!  Many thanks for making our Term 2 finish with a wonderful celebration to remember!

We encourage all students to try out new foods and enjoy what they can from the potluck.  Please send in snacks and a small lunch for your child if they are selective eaters.  Thanks for your support!
